Canteen assistant

The first colleagues arrive for breakfast and everything is ready. Later in the morning, preparations for lunch are in full swing. In between, refreshments need to be prepared for a meeting. Together with your colleagues, you make sure everything runs smoothly.
As a Canteen Assistant, you support the daily activities in a large company canteen. You help prepare food, keep the kitchen and dining area clean and make sure everything is well stocked and ready for your colleagues.

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing and setting up breakfast and lunch, including salads, main courses and desserts;
• Assisting cooks and kitchen colleagues with food preparation and other daily tasks;
• Preparing and serving refreshments for meetings, celebrations and other events;
• Keeping the kitchen, dining area, coffee stations and workspaces clean, organized and fully stocked;
• Washing dishes and kitchen equipment and disposing of waste according to hygiene standards.

You will work in an international environment where many colleagues come together every day. Your work ensures they can enjoy their breakfast or lunch in a clean, organized and welcoming canteen.

You enjoy helping others and take pride in creating a clean and welcoming environment. You can work independently, but you are also comfortable working together with colleagues when things get busy.

In addition:

• You have good verbal and written English skills;
• You are flexible and willing to learn new things;
• You are comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment;
• You understand the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety.

Experience working in a large company canteen is an advantage, especially in an environment serving a large number of employees. An educational background related to food or food technology is also an advantage, but not required.

You will have a varied part time position within a large international working environment where service, teamwork and quality are important.
