In a nutshell

Would you like to use your technical skills to create bespoke solutions that make a real difference in people's everyday lives? In this Workplace Technician role, you will combine technical expertise, creativity, and social impact. You will work with a variety of materials and techniques to develop solutions that give people greater independence, comfort, and freedom.

As a Workplace Technician, you will play an important role in creating practical, durable solutions for people with disabilities. You will translate the recommendations of adaptation specialists into customised technical solutions, using a range of materials and techniques.

No two days are the same. One day, you might modify a wheelchair; the next, you could be working on communication equipment or another assistive device. With your technical knowledge and attention to detail, you will ensure that every solution meets the individual needs of the client.

We are looking for a practical, detail-oriented technician who enjoys hands-on work and is enthusiastic about creating bespoke solutions.

You also have:

  • MBO-level education or equivalent practical and technical knowledge.
  • Experience working with wood, metal, or plastics, or experience in upholstery.
  • Technical aptitude and an interest in customised solutions.
  • A strong focus on detail, quality, and durability.
  • An independent and responsible approach to work.
  • Good teamwork skills and a solution-oriented mindset.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Making technical modifications to wheelchairs, communication equipment, and other customised assistive devices.
  • Working with materials such as wood, metal, and plastics, as well as upholstering various components.
  • Maintaining workshop machinery and tools.
  • Collaborating with adaptation specialists and colleagues to develop suitable solutions.
  • Contributing ideas for technical solutions and bespoke modifications where needed.
  • Ensuring the quality and durability of every project, with a keen eye for detail.
You will have plenty of scope to apply your technical knowledge and creativity. Every day, you will help develop solutions that directly improve clients' well-being and independence.

You will be working for an organisation in the Arnhem region dedicated to helping people with disabilities enjoy greater independence, comfort, and freedom. Through customised solutions such as adapted wheelchairs, smart home technology, and communication equipment, the organisation combines technical craftsmanship with a meaningful social purpose.

You will join a friendly, close-knit workshop team where colleagues support one another and your ideas and skills are valued. There is a strong focus on personal development, training, and education, giving you the opportunity to continue growing both professionally and personally.
